Reducing packaging waste has never been more important – that’s why Lenor is committed to working towards circular and intelligent packaging that reduces our use of single-use plastics.<br><br>

Lenor’s packaging is essential in preventing the product from being spoiled or wasted. We are committed reducing our use of plastic in the following ways:<br><br>

- __Renew__: Minimise the use of virgin plastic by increasing recycled content
- __Recycle__: Clearly showing how our packaging can be recycled
- __Reduce__: Finding alternative materials to go from less to zero plastic packaging
- __Reinvent__: Pioneering smart technologies technologies that help us to renew, recycle and reduce our packaging’s plastic use

    <td class="tdclassA"> <span>RENEW: Minimizing the use of virgin plastic by increasing</span><br>We are committed to maximizing the use of recycled materials in Lenor packaging.<br><br>For example, we use post-consumer recycling resin (PCR) in the creation of our Liquid Fabric Softener transparent and coloured bottles and Beads bottles are made using post-consumer recycling resin (PCR), a material that comes from recycled plastic product waste from consumers or businesses.</td>

Lenor is partnering with paper bottle company Paboco and some of the world’s leading brands to identify packaging solutions to reduce and replace plastic packaging even for liquids. Our first step in this process is a prototype bottle made from sustainably sourced FSC-certified paper and a thin plastic barrier made from post-consumer recycled PET. In 2022, this first-of-a-kind paper bottle was trialled in Western Europe to understand performance and consumer feedback.<br>
This first pilot will form the basis of a test and learn strategy to scale up paper packaging and incorporate it more widely across P&G’s portfolio. You can find more info here:

    <td class="tdtext"><span>REINVENT: Pioneering smart technologies that help us to renew, recycle and reduce our packaging’s plastic use</span><br>As part of the Holygrail 2.0 initiative, we have joined forces with 160 other companies and organisations to pioneer digital watermarks for smart packaging recycling across the EU. Digital Watermarks are tiny imperceptible codes that are embedded onto our packaging and inform automatic sorting equipment how it should be sorted and recycled. This enables better sorting and higher-quality recycling rates.<br><br></td>

In October 2020, Lenor was the first P&G brand to commercialize Digital Watermarks on some of its packaging. Today, the technology is embedded on all the sleeved Liquid Fabric Softeners, Scent Boosters and Laundry Detergent Liquitabs bags sold in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
